How fishing games work
You control a cannon at the edge of an underwater scene. Each shot costs your current cannon value. Fish carry multipliers — small fish around 2×–5×, large fish and bosses 100× or more. Catch one and you win cannon value × multiplier.
Whether a shot catches a fish is decided by the game's RNG, not by aim alone. Big fish have low catch rates to balance their big payouts.
Features and the traps inside them
| Feature | What it does | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Cannon level | Sets your stake per shot. | Easy to raise mid-session without noticing. |
| Lock-on | Auto-targets a chosen fish. | Keeps you firing at expensive, hard-to-catch targets. |
| Auto-fire | Shoots non-stop. | The quickest way to empty a balance. |
| Special weapons | Lasers, bombs or drills that hit many fish. | Triggered at random — not something you can plan. |
| Boss fish | Rare fish with huge multipliers or bonus rounds. | Chasing them is how most fishing budgets disappear. |
Choosing a fishing game
- Read the info panel (ⓘ). Licensed games list their RTP and fish multipliers.
- Check the lowest cannon cost. Choose a game where your budget covers at least 200 shots.
- Stay on PAGCOR-licensed sites. Unlicensed apps love fishing games — run any site through the OK Check first.
Keeping a fishing game budget
Dozens of shots per minute add up fast, and lock-on plus auto-fire speeds that up even more. Count every bullet as a bet, because it is one.
- Keep auto-fire off.
- Stay at the lowest cannon level while learning.
- Set a timer — arcade-style games make time disappear.
